THE PROBLEM
Due to influent infiltration into the “closed” sanitary sewer system many sewage treatment plants are forced to discharge raw sewage into local waterways due the inability to process all the excess flow of water coming through the plant: water that doesn’t need to be treated in the first place.
THE SOLUTION
The "A" Clamp is a “low tech” solution for eliminating influent infiltration from leaking riser / cleanout pipes. The "A" Clamp actually clamps the riser / cleanout pipe to the lateral service line or to the P trap if one is used.
The freeze-thaw cycle will still move the riser / cleanout pipe a little bit, but the seal will remain intact. The hydrostatic forces in the ground are great enough that nothing will keep the riser / cleanout pipe from moving, glue will not keep it from moving, it will hold it rigid and the riser / cleanout pipe may crack.
EASY TO PREVENT
While there are other sources for influent infiltration, this source can be controlled by simply putting The “A" Clamp into municipal building codes.
With the stroke of a pen the problem can begin to be solved. Either the home owner or the municipality can absorb this one-time expense and stop wasting tax dollars year after year processing clean ground water.
ABOUT THE "A" CLAMP:
The "A" Clamp is a mechanical device which will couple the sewer vent pipe (4" SDR-35) at the trap or cleanout, disallowing the seal to be broken.

The "A" Clamp is made of solid steel and is coated with durable rubberized coating for added protection underground. The fastening hardware is stainless steel. The inner ribbed surface of the upper unit is specially designed to engage the vent pipe without harming the pipe thus eliminating upward lift.
The "A" Clamp can be used on new installations as well as rehabilitation work and is quick and easy to install, averaging under eight minutes for total installation.
